Five former waitresses and bartenders at the Chieftain Restaurant and PowWow Room gathered for a reunion March 7 at the Thai Restaurant in Wenatchee.

“It was absolutely wonderful,” said former waitress Brucie Conrad. “We were so family when we were there. We would have picnics together and the Chieftain would let us bring our families to the swimming pool. It was like getting together with all of your most favorite sisters again.” The Chieftain closed in 1999. The reunion included, from left, Cindy Blaufus of East Wenatchee, Patty Pepper of Wenatchee, Peg Schmidt of Waterville, Brucie Conrad of Ashland, Ore., and Fran McKinney of East Wenatchee.
