NCW — Plans for controlled burning on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest this spring have been finalized on the Entiat, Tonasket and Methow Valley ranger districts.

Burning on about 2,200 acres on the Entiat district could begin this week, and includes treatment in the Lower Tyee, Preston Creek, Potato Creek and Forest Mountain/Johnson Creek areas.

Burning in the Methow Valley is planned near Eightmile Creek and Fawn Creek northwest of Winthrop, near Little Bridge Creek west of Twisp, and the McFarland…
