EAST WENATCHEE — Health officials want people using wells along the Columbia River to be alert to possible problems in the wake of the continued draw-down of the Columbia River.

Problems may develop as the draw-down affects the nearby aquifers over time, said Mary Small, a spokeswoman for the Chelan-Douglas Health District. She said a couple of people on individual wells have experienced problems and their water is being tested. No large drinking water systems have been affected.
