Del R. Farmer

August 2, 1934 ~ March 16, 2014

Del R. Farmer, a longtime resident of Wenatchee, WA, went to be with his Lord and Savior March 16, 2014, at the age of 79. Del was born to Whit and Dessie Farmer on August 2, 1934, in Glenwood, AR. He met his loving wife of 59 years, Sandra Farmer, in Grangeville, ID. They were married in the following year of 1955. In 1967, Del moved his family from Kennewick, WA to Wenatchee, where, as a partner and owner, he expanded “B & D Fancifoods Distributing” to include coverage of all of North Central Washington. Del was a faithful member of Wenatchee First Assembly for 46 years, where he served on the church board. He found great happiness and pride in his family, and looked forward to the many get-togethers and holidays spent in their company. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and simply spending time with his loved ones enjoying God’s creation.

Del is survived by his wife, Sandra of East Wenatchee; his children, Steve (and Shelly) Farmer, Caron George, and Kay Jones, all of Wenatchee, and Jacqui Gifford of Montana; his siblings, ZA Farmer of Red Bluff, CA, Darrell (and Linda) Farmer of Yuba City, CA, Lawanda (and Jerry) Reed of Live Oak, CA; sister-in-law, Helen Farmer of Sacramento, CA; his nine grandchildren, Manuel George III, Amanda Huffaker, Kyle Farmer, Vanessa Farmer, Jeri Smith, Andy Jones, Tyler Jones, Brycen Farmer, and Garet Gifford; and his 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jewell and Elvin Farmer; and sister, Juanita Reed.

A Celebration of Del’s Life will be held at Wenatchee First Assembly, 1520 McKittrick Street, Wenatchee, on Friday, March 21, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. Concluding Services and Interment will follow at Wenatchee Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday, March 20, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
