WVC roundup: Knights softball team rallies again

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Valley College softball team’s ability to win games no matter the direness of its situation is easier to understand when listening to head coach Shelly Pflugrath talk about her current team and how it relates to the program as a whole, which has won eight straight Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges East Region titles and won the NWAACC championship last season.

“I do think there’s something to say about expecting to win because of the program you’re in. I don’t doubt that for a minute,” she said after her team’s dramatic 4-3 win over Spokane on Friday. “We’ve won a lot of games over the years, (we’ve) been here before, and it breeds a lot of confidence.”
