Velocity Swimming, the Wenatchee Valley’s only year-round swim team, competed at the Northwest Age Group Championship last weekend, placing 17th out of 154 teams while setting six new Inland Empire Swimming records, 62 personal-best times and earning 27 top-eight finishes.
The meet featured the top age group swimmers from Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Washington, and Wyoming. This is the first time Velocity Swimming has placed in the top 20 of this high caliber meet in team history. Last year, Velocity placed 88th, scored six points and had only four swims in finals (top eight placers). This year Velocity jumped 61 places, scored 114 points and earned 27 finals swims.
