Sharon Browne

Malaga, WA

Sharon Browne, 75, of Malaga, WA, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 15, 2014, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born an only child to Mary and Marshal Wilkinson of Libby, MT. After graduating from high school in Sandpoint, ID, she went to college at Central Washington University. While attending there, she met and married her first husband, Billy V. Bell. They had two sons, Doug Bell and Todd Bell, both of Everett, WA, and one daughter, Cindy Tully of Spokane, WA. In the early 1970’s, she became a single mother of three. While working as an aid at Highline Nursing Home, she put herself through Wenatchee Valley Community College’s Nursing program. After graduating, she began working for Colonial Vista. She stayed for 35 years, working in various departments. While there, she started a Restorative Care program, which was the precursor to Colonial Vista’s current Rehab facility. In 1982, Sharon married her “soulmate,” Robert Browne of Malaga, WA. The size of her family grew with the addition of Bob’s children, Nicole McCoy of Ventura, CA and Michael Browne of Santa Rosa, CA. Initially they lived in Wenatchee, WA, but they were able to build their dream home together at Three Lakes in Malaga. They have lived there 21 years, feeling blessed every day as they’ve enjoyed the beauty and wildlife surrounding them. Sharon spent the last couple of weeks of her life at Colonial Vista, where her life’s work of caring for the elderly came full circle to bless her in her last days. Many friends and family were able to visit and say their good-byes. Her faith ever strong, she assured us all of the peace in her heart, saying that God was calling her home and she was ready to go. Earth has one less angel today, but we’ve all been blessed to have known her, and we look forward to being reunited someday. Mother, wife, grandmother, friend and caregiver, you will be missed.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Browne; son, Doug Bell, who has one son, Cole Bell, who also has one son, Ryker Bell; son, Todd Bell and wife, Diana Bell, and their son, Cody Bell; daughter, Cindy (Bell) and husband, Shawn Tully; daughter, Nicole (Browne) and husband, Bret McCoy, and their son, Rob McCoy; son, Michael Browne and wife, Sarah Browne, their son, Logan Browne and two daughters, Lauren Browne and Olivia Browne.

A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the Stemilt Hill Community Church, followed by a gathering at the Stemilt Hill Grange.
