It didn’t take long last week for some of the 400-plus attendees at GWATA’s 2014 Innovator Awards Luncheon to notice the Arabic script stickered on the complimentary Granny Smith apples at every place setting.
You could almost hear the collective query: “Huh?”
Actually, there’s no real mystery here. The Arabic lettering curled along the brand sticker on those Granny Smiths is simply a great visual example of the Wenatchee Valley apple industry’s global reach.
