...WINTER STORM FOR MUCH OF THE REGION POSSIBLE LATE THIS WEEK... .A LONG PERIOD OF LIGHT ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL ADD UP TO POSSIBLE MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OVER A 24 TO 36 HOUR PERIOD. ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL BEGIN THURSDAY AFTERNOON IN THE CASCADES AND BEGINNING THURSDAY EVENING OVER THE REST OF THE REGION. THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF OVER MOST AREAS BY LATE FRIDAY...SNOW SHOWERS

Randal Scott Bird, 56, of Wenatchee, died Thursday, March 27, 2014.

He had lived in Wenatchee for 26 years. He was owner and operator of Heaven’s Best Carpet Cleaning and he also owned the University Courtyard Apartments.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Bird of Wenatchee; his children, Nathanial Bird of Canton, Ga., Nicholas Bird, Matthew Bird, Mitchell Bird and Michael Bird, all of Provo, Utah, Natalie Mahler of Simsbury, Conn., Nicole Cheung of Seattle and Michelle Nielsen of Saratoga Springs, Utah; and his mother, Carma Bird of Rigby, Idaho.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1621 Maiden Lane, Wenatchee. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.

Arrangements are by Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee.
