WENATCHEE — Sunday marks the dawn of a new era in Wenatchee Valley soccer. Wenatchee United FC hosts its first ever regulation game and season-opener at 4 p.m. at the Apple Bowl against Bellingham United, bringing local fans a competitive level of semi-pro soccer previously unmatched.

While the club is a new institution playing in a first-year league — the Evergreen Premier League — the roster features a bevy of familiar faces for fans to cheer for. And that deep core of local talent could be one of the squad’s biggest strengths as it looks to establish itself as one of the league’s top clubs this season.
