MALOTT — The Chiliwist Firewise Advisory Committee will host a wildfire preparedness event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Corrals, 557 Chiliwist Road at North Star near Malott.

The event includes presentations by the state Department of Natural Resources about applying for cost-share grants; the Okanogan Conservation District on making your home and land more defensible through the Firewise program; the DNR and Malott Fire District on fire response; and the state Department of Fish and Widlife on prescribed burning.
