The Apple Blossom Run, held Saturday in Wenatchee, drew 150 walkers and almost 500 runners for its 10-kilometer and 5k races, according to organizer Scott Ballard. Add in the 2k run for youngsters, and the participant figure swelled to 1,500. “The runners love the overall atmosphere, setting, course and ‘fun’ nature of the race,” Ballard said. “And they love being cheered on by the parade spectators as they pass through the parade route.”
Seth Pierson from Cashmere won the 5k race, and Wenatchee’s Maggie Rivera placed first in the women’s 5k.
