Panthers down Davis, have shot at district title

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Panthers boys soccer team stayed true to the short passing game, and that proved to be the difference Friday against Davis.

Wenatchee (8-7 overall, 6-4 Big Nine) scored a pair of goals in the last five minutes of regulation to take a 3-1 win over the Pirates. The Panthers travel to Moses Lake for districts Tuesday for a shot at a district championship and a state bid, something they haven’t earned in nine years. The loser hosts the winner of the Davis-Eisenhower game and can also clinch a state berth with a victory.
