Stop noxious weeds
I have several comments in response to the article by Betsy Steele published on the Community Connections page of The Wenatchee World on April 30. While it is true that noxious weeds impact our natural resources, a large portion of Chelan County’s economy is dependent, either directly or indirectly, on agriculture. Yes, the sign erected by the Chelan County Noxious Weed Board can be scoffed at in a narrowminded way, not much corn growing around here. With a broader view, the message of the sign should be clear. “Weed ’em and Reap” means that there are economic benefits to controlling noxious weeds.
