WVC softball clinches 9th-straight regional title

WENATCHEE — As the Wenatchee Valley College softball team celebrated its two annual milestones Saturday — honoring its sophomore class after the players’ last home game, and winning the Northwest Athletic Association of Community College East Region championship — third baseman Kinley Pope and the rest of the Knights’ second-year players relished the opportunity to bask in their latest accomplishment.

Most of the sophomores were key players on WVC’s NWAACC tournament-winning team last season, but entering this year, the group had some extra motivation to keep the program’s high standard of achievement going.
