MONITOR — A 24-year-old Cashmere woman escaped injury when an Amtrack train clipped the front of her car on Bridge Street near Monitor about 5:45 p.m. Saturday.
Cheyenne Taber had stopped at the crossing, which does not have lights and arms, but did not see the westbound train approaching and drove forward, said Sgt. Jerry Moore with the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office. The train was going about 40 mph. The accident caused minor damage to the front end of her car.
