Big Nine tennis: Wenatchee Valley players remain in hunt

YAKIMA — The Wenatchee Panthers boys tennis squad opened day one of 4A District 6 tournament play Saturday with plenty to play for in the district semifinals. Four players advanced to the semifinals and seven of the nine total will return to compete Monday.

Wenatchee has one doubles teams and two singles players who will compete in the semifinals. Sohail Qazi and Kyle Norland won each of their matches in singles play to advance to the semifinals and will face each other Monday for a district finals berth.
