OKANOGAN — The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office received a $7,250 grant from the National Rifle Association to buy firearms, ammunition and equipment for its free public safety firearms class.
The class teaches people how to safely and properly shoot a pistol, said Deputy Michael Blake, lead instructor for the class.
About 100 people took the class last year.
The grant means people taking the class will not have to bring their own gun, he said.
