Bessie Mae Hawes, 97, of the George-Quincy area, died Sunday, May 18, 2014.

She worked on the family farm and shingle mill, operated the George scales and assisted her daughter Donna at her antiques stores.

Survivors include her children, Luann Alison of Spanaway, Marlene Keith and Ben Hawes, both of Quincy, Nancy Albright of Royal City and David Hawes and Donna Pelham, both of Potlach, Idaho.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Community Church, 1005 10th Ave. S.W. in Quincy. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Scharbach’s Columbia Funeral Chapel, Quincy.

Arrangements are by Scharbach’s Columbia Funeral Chapel.
