On April 14, more than 250 girls age 16-18 were abducted from a school in the village of Chibok, Nigeria. Leaders from the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (EYN) report the majority of the girls are from their denomination. When asked what the American church can do at this time to be supportive, EYN leaders requested prayer and fasting.
Earlier this month, a group from the Sunnyslope and Brethren Baptist churches held a prayer service for the girls, their families and their communities. Carol Bowman of Wenatchee shared these words:
