MOSES LAKE — The Wenatchee Panthers softball squad’s bats came to life when the stakes were highest, and consequentially earned its first trip to state since 2011.

Wenatchee defeated Eisenhower 9-4 in game one of Saturday’s 4A District 6 tournament in Moses Lake, went on to defeat Eastmont 12-4 in a winner-to-state, loser-out contest and lost the district championship 13-3 against Moses Lake. It will play in a state contest Friday against an opponent to be determined.
