The news about the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust lately has been mostly about money.
Their capital campaign finished with $8.6 million. They have acquired most of the “foothills” area west of town, and have added miles and miles of trails and access points, with more to come.
One of their challenges, now under way, is to convert old farm fields in the Horse Lake area into “shrub-steppe habitat,” more like it was originally.
