Not again. I wish someone could tell me why our culture produces so many people who see the murder of innocents as a reasonable choice, one of their weekend recreational options, a valid means of self-expression. Why?
They can’t tell you. They can’t really tell you why the creepy and disturbed Elliot Rodger would find the prospect of mass murder so exciting he would plan the event for more than a year and a half. They can’t say why his moral grounding was so twisted, weak, sociopathic and lacking in restraint that he saw killing as “only fair.” For him, slaughtering people who just happen to be close is mere tit for tat. I’m sad, so they die. Why are there so many people like that? Why can’t we find them and stop them?
