4A state track and field: Christman, Arlt place in distance runs

TACOMA — A pair of long-distance runners from the Wenatchee Valley reached the podium Thursday, the first day of the 4A state track and field meet at Mount Tahoma High School. Wenatchee’s Cole Christman finished fifth in the 1,600-meters with a time of four minutes, 12.36 seconds, and Eastmont’s Betsy Arlt finished eighth in the 1,600 with a time of 4:58.83.

Additionally, Wenatchee hurdler Christian Brandt-Sims finished third in the 110 hurdles preliminaries with a time of 14.75, which was fast enough to qualify for the finals.
