State track and field: Brandt-Sims makes history, sweeps sprint titles again

TACOMA — Wenatchee’s Isaiah Brandt-Sims made history Saturday at the class 4A state track and field meet at Mount Tahoma High School.

The senior capped off his illustrious track career by winning the 200-meter run in 21.38 seconds. It was his second first-place finish of the day — he also won 100 in 10.76 — and his eighth state championship. Brandt-Sims made his mark in Washington track history by being the only 4A athlete to win eight state titles in the two races.
