1A state boys soccer: Jackrabbits win state title

SUMNER — Quincy High School hadn’t won a state title in any sport for 16 years before Saturday, when the Jackrabbits won 1-0 against University Prep to clinch the 1A boys soccer state championship at Sunset Chevrolet Stadium.

The win was especially meaningful to the community, according to head coach Arturo Guerrero, because of former coach Tom Turner’s ongoing battle with cancer.
