Elvin “Doyle” Weatherford

February 16, 1926 ~ August 27, 2014

Elvin “Doyle” Weatherford was called home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2014, with his family present at his bedside. He was born in Arkansas on February 16, 1926, to James and Willie Weatherford. He was drafted into the Army in 1946-47. In the early 50’s, the whole family migrated to Wenatchee for work. He started working at Hannah Mining until his retirement in 1991. He met and married the love of his life, Wanda Moody on June 7, 1958. Doyle enjoyed doing yard work. Upon his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed trips to Reno and other small road trips. He enjoyed watching Westerns with his daughter. He had a good sense of humor and loved to tease and make people laugh. He would always get a twinkle in his eye when he was being mischievous. He loved spending time with family and cherished life.

He is survived by one daughter, Sheila Trudell; son-in-law, Rick Trudell; step-son, Lloyd Moody and wife, Luna; two grandchildren, RaGina Trudell and Coby Trudell; and three great-grandchildren, Dulton Trudell, Serenity Trudell and Carter Trudell. He was preceded in death by his loving wife; his parents; and one brother, Noel Weatherford.

A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crohn’s Disease. Arrangements are by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
