Retha (Collins) Petty

October 30, 1952 ~ August 24, 2014

Our beloved Retha slipped away from us on August 24, 2014. Retha Ann Collins was born October 30, 1952, in St. Louis, MO to Billy Collins and Mandy Beshears. She grew up at Rock Island, WA with her brothers, Wayne and Bobby, and sister, Mary. She married her best friend, Don Petty, in June 1996, and they lived in East Wenatchee, WA. Those who knew her could describe Retha in three words: heart of gold. She loved her family, her dogs and elephants. Her family meant everything to her and she would do anything for them. Her dogs adored her and her little elephants paraded through the house; it was no secret how much she enjoyed and loved them. She will be missed, as she left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved her.

Retha is survived by her husband, Don Petty; daughter, Tiffany (Seth) Davis of Wenatchee; stepson, Mark (Miria) Petty of Darrington, WA; sister, Mary Collins of Soap Lake, WA; brother, Bobby Collins of Othello, WA; brothers-in-law, Frank (Ursula) Jorgensen of Snohomish, WA and John (Pat) Jorgensen of Brier, WA; sister-in-law, Barbara (Randy) Greenfield of Bothell, WA; and her beloved granddaughters, Emma and soon-to-arrive, Aurora Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Wayne.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Church of God, Faith of Abraham, 1835 N. Western Avenue, Wenatchee. Concluding Services and Interment will follow at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. Viewing will be Wednesday, September 3, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
