Registration open for Knight Fright Ride

WENATCHEE — Registration is underway for the Wenatchee Valley College Alumni Association's Knight Fright Ride on Oct. 10. The ride offers a 10-mile course and a 40-mile course that begin and end at Saddle Rock Brewery in Wenatchee.

Stand Down event offers aid for local veterans

WENATCHEE — The Veterans Warehouse will partner with several veterans groups to host a Wenatchee Veterans Stand Down event Aug. 21 and 22. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days at the Wenatchee National Guard Armory, 1230 Fifth St.

Methow Conservancy to host botany program

WINTHROP — The Methow Conservancy will hold its "Alpine Heather and Maple Pass Treasured Landscape Project" program on Aug. 4 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Pasayten Room in Sun Mountain Lodge.

Local girl to compete in national pageant

MALAGA — Emily Yarbrough, daughter of Jay and Angela Yarbrough of Malaga, has been selected to compete in the 2015 All-American Girl pageant, Aug. 3-6, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Dog Day’ offers fun for area pets

EAST WENATCHEE — Eastmont Parks and Recreation and the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society will host "Wag N' Tails Dog Day" on Aug. 8, from 8 a.m. to noon at Eastmont Community Park 4Plex.

Floyd and Barbara Ingersoll of Entiat celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary during their annual family trip, June 21-26. The getaway to Hartman’s Log Cabin Resort on South Twin Lake, near Inchelium, was their 10th-annual vacation with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

City pool hosts Doggie Paddle Swim

WENATCHEE — The City of Wenatchee and the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society will host a Doggie Paddle Swim on Aug. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Wenatchee City Pool.
