Students recognized for academic promise

WENATCHEE — Evelyn Hyde and Julia Jobe of Wenatchee High School have received honors from the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program. They will receive a letter of commendation from the school and program. Commended students placed among the top 5 percent of students who entered the national scholarship competition.

Marching band brings home awards

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee High School Golden Apple Marching Band competed Oct. 3 at Neil F. Lampson Stadium in Kennewick and Oct. 10 at the 10th annual Tumwater Marching Band Festival.

Swap meet focuses on winter sports gear
