WENATCHEE — Peoples Bank and Riverside Pub will host a concert to benefit the Pateros and Brewster Fire Relief Fund from 2:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Riverside Pub at Columbia Valley Brewery, 538 Riverside Drive. All ages are welcome.
COLE’S CORNER — The 59er Diner at Cole’s Corner, 15361 Highway 2, will host a benefit concert to help local firefighters at 3 p.m. Saturday. The concert will feature Danny Vernon, the Northwest’s premier Elvis impersonator.
ELLENSBURG — The Wounded Warriors Family Support’s High Five Tour will stop in Ellensburg from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Kelleher Motor Co., 602 N. Pearl St. It is one of only two tour stops in Washington; the other is in Spokane.
Staff Sgt. Brandon E. Gilbert, a 2002 Eastmont High School graduate, is serving as a senior drill sergeant at Fort Benning, Ga. He is an 11-year veteran of the U.S. Army as a combat medic. Sgt. Gilbert is the son of Don and Cheryl Gilbert of Deer Park and formerly of East Wenatchee, and the grandson of Ken and Delta Wood of East Wenatchee.
WENATCHEE — Overwhelming response from volunteers, competitors, spectators and the community helped raise a record amount at the final Andrew York Lineman Rodeo last month, adding $37,000 to the memorial scholarship fund.
