WPD honors top employees and volunteers

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Police Department honored its best employees and volunteers at an annual awards ceremony Tuesday at city hall. The ceremony was dedicated to Gerald Komorowski, a VIPS (Volunteers in Police Service) volunteer who died May 12. He was to have received a President’s Volunteer Service Award, which is given to those who perform 100 of more hours of service in a year. This would have been the third year that Komorowski received the award. Komorowski, a longtime local disc jockey, was known in radio circles as Jerry Michaels.  READ MORE »
