Demolition work continues for Pangborn runway

EAST WENATCHEE — A swath of land continues to be cleared near Pangborn Memorial Airport, making way for the planned runway expansion. Here, Lloyd Palm moves and tears into a mobile home on South Union Avenue on Tuesday as a large irrigation pipe will be placed underground nearby. Palm says he will come back in February to take away the remnants of the houses in the area.

House passes Stehekin Road, cabin fees bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday passed the National Defense Authorization Act, which included amendments to rebuild the upper Stehekin Valley Road and to change the fee system for people who own cabins on national forest land.

State begins to sell trail-front land

Grant County to get new dispatch

Business Past: Conrad Rose Building

Pioneer Conrad Rose built the Conrad Rose Building on North Wenatchee Avenue in 1919. It was home of the Studebaker agency in this 1932 photo. It later housed the Chevrolet dealership.
