Roundup: Panthers combine on five-hitter in opener
WENATCHEE — Three Wenatchee pitchers combined on a five-hitter in the Panthers’ season-opening 8-2 win over Lake Washington.
The Kangaroos took the lead with a lone run in the top of the second inning, but the Panthers scored in their final four at-bats to take the lead, then pull away.
Eastmont names Grant its new volleyball coach
EAST WENATCHEE — Eastmont has hired Leon Grant to replace Tim Davison as the Wildcats’ head volleyball coach.
Grant, 62, helped found the Eastmont Volleyball Club in the 1990s, and has experience coaching the sport at the club level.
