LEAVENWORTH — Cascade scored three runs in the first inning Tuesday, then held off Quincy the rest of the way for a 5-2 victory. “We got the early lead, and Evan (Parton) threw three pretty good innings,” Cascade coach Kirk Sunitsch said. “It was pretty close the whole time, a good early game.”

WENATCHEE — State scoring records are apparently as tough to keep track of as they are to break. Several of the state’s newspapers reported last weekend that former Cascade basketball star Ryan Hansen’s 14-year-old state Class 1A scoring record had fallen.
