Four CTL teams heading to 1A state tourney
MOSES LAKE — For the first eight minutes Saturday, the Class 1A boys regional championship game was shaping up to be a tight battle. But Chelan’s defense dominated in the second quarter, their offense exploded in the third quarter, and the Goats went on to a comfortable win.
Cashmere and Lake Roosevelt to play for final state berth
MOSES LAKE — It’s a widely-held sports axiom that one team should never beat another three times in the same season. The Lake Roosevelt boys basketball team will attempt to do just that to Cashmere late Saturday afternoon, with a state tournament berth going to the winner.
Contenders descending on Moses Lake
MOSES LAKE — Six Caribou Trail League basketball teams are headed to Moses Lake this Friday and Saturday for regional tournament play. They’ll be in the same building, even in the same tournament, but based on how they fared in the district tournament, the tasks at hand will be very different. The top boys and girls seeds from both the CTL and NEA automatically qualify for state and are only playing this weekend to figure out if they’ll advance as the No. 1 or No. 2 seed.
Prep roundup: Three teams win to clinch state tourney berths
WENATCHEE — Three area teams secured state tournament berths on Saturday. The Chelan boys and Okanogan girls secured their 1A berths by winning district titles, while Pateros advanced in 2B with a 78-42 “loser out” victory over Columbia Basin Secondary School.
