Eastmont boys to rely on depth
Wildcat girls in rebuilding mode
EAST WENATCHEE — The Eastmont boys tennis team doesn’t have one superstar player, but coach Terry Valdez is fine with that. Instead, the Wildcats boast a deep lineup that will be especially strong in doubles competition against league opponents.

Ellis, Snyder to lead Eastmont golfers
EAST WENATCHEE — In 2009, Eastmont had a pair of stellar seniors to lead it’s boys golf team. In 2010, the Wildcats have another pair of gifted seniors they will rely upon.
Mostly new names on Eastmont track team
EAST WENATCHEE — The Eastmont track and field teams aren’t exactly back to square one, but a youth movement is definitely in full swing. The Wildcat girls, just two years removed from a Class 2A state championship, are moving on without stars Brooke Randall (javelin state champion) and Nikki Dotter (second in 800 meters at state), both of whom graduated in 2009. Meanwhile, the Eastmont boys team will rely mostly on underclassmen as it attempts to improve on last year’s 14th place finish (out of 17 teams) at the regional meet.
WENATCHEE — J.C. Romero uncorked a crackling, 35-yard shot from an extreme angle to give Quincy a 1-0 lead in the beginning of the second half that stood up in a non-league stunner over Wenatchee in the Apple Bowl on Monday night. Romero, a senior midfielder, controlled a ball far out on the right side and boomed a shot across the face of the goal and into the low left corner six minutes into the second half, leaving Wenatchee keeper Angel Guerra powerless to stop it.
