Eastmont boys to lock horns with Rams again
EAST WENATCHEE — There’s a long and heated history between the Eastmont and West Valley boys basketball programs, but the winner of Friday’s 7 p.m. Big Nine 3A district tournament contest in Yakima between the old Mid-Valley League rivals will have the ultimate last word. The game will be the last for the foreseeable future that the fifth-seeded Wildcats and fourth-seeded Rams will play as league opponents — West Valley is moving down to Class 2A to play in the CWAC next school year, while Eastmont will move up to the 4A ranks of the Big Nine — but even more importantly, whichever team loses will be sent home for the winter.
