Dear Abby: As the executive director of the Hearing Loss Association of America, may I suggest that “Mortified at the Dinner Table” (March 2), who wrote about her in-laws’ poor hearing even with hearing aids, connect with one of our 200-plus local HLAA chapters at www.hearingloss.org? SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Coach Kelly Graves said there is a good reason why lower-seeded Gonzaga was able to knock off Rutgers and Miami to advance to the round of 16 in the NCAA women's basketball tournament for a third straight season. "We're good, we're gritty. We never consider ourselves the underdog," Graves said after the Zags beat third-seeded Miami 65-54 on Monday night.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Was this the end for the Kings in Sacramento? The chatter around Sleep Train Pavilion centered on that question Wednesday night. With NBA owners debating whether to approve the franchise's sale and relocation to Seattle, the ever-faithful fans of the Sacramento Kings pushed the uncertainty aside and did what they have done for parts of four decades during a 112-108 loss in the regular-season finale against the Los Angeles Clippers.
OAKLAND, Calif. SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Dashon Goldson has a stack of manila envelopes in his locker, filing away the paperwork for every time the NFL has fined the San Francisco 49ers safety. While he has heard from the league office more than a dozen times in his six-year career, the letters often have little to do with his hard-hitting ways.
TORONTO (AP) — Seattle rookie quarterback Russell Wilson ran for three touchdowns and threw for another in leading the Seahawks to their second straight rout, a 50-17 win over the Bills on Sunday in Buffalo's annual home game in Toronto. Wilson scored on runs of 14, 25 and 4 yards and then hit Zach Miller for a 4-yard touchdown in helping the Seahawks score 31 points on their first five possessions. The defense then took over by forcing three consecutive turnovers to start the second half, including Earl Thomas scoring ...
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Getting to eight victories was supposed to be Washington's steppingstone. Proof that they had recovered from a midseason stretch of three bad losses and continued on the path of yearly, incremental improvement under Steve Sarkisian. That path took a surprising detour Friday when Washington was waylaid in the largest collapse in the 105 matchups of the Apple Cup.
