OIC opens winter energy assistance program

NCW — Opportunities Industrialization Center of Washington has begun scheduling evaluation appointments for its energy assistance program. Appointments can be made at the organization’s Moses Lake office, 903 W. 3rd Ave.

Upcoming play plans to honor local veterans

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee High School Choir plans to recognize local veterans during its upcoming performance of “White Christmas.” The show will be held Dec. 1-3 and 15-17 at 7:30 p.m. with 2 p.m. matinees.

Museum to host calligraphy workshop

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center will host a traditional Japanese calligraphy workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Free health screenings offered by Lions club

ROCK ISLAND — The Wenatchee Central Lions Club will sponsor a free health screening event from 1 to 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at Rock Island Elementary, 5645 Rock Island Road.

Pet of the Week: Fall in love with Oreo

Oreo is a delightful young lady, say officials at the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. She is a large-size, black and white, 2-year-old short-hair domestic mix. Oreo is social and confident and makes friends with everyone. While she loves attention, she does occasionally need some alone time. Oreo loves treats and cloth toys, and enjoys playing.
