PHOTO: A tower target gave students something to aim at Friday at Wenatchee Valley College’s catapult contest. Eleven of the devices, including (right) Eli Chambers’ creation, launched tennis balls and were judged for distance and accuracy. Student Jackie Browning built the castle turret, which contained white balloons that would have been released if hit correctly with a ball. Browning let the balloons fly after the competition.
