In the first race of the morning at the Bike N Juice Festival in Leavenworth Saturday, Joey Chadwick, 3, from Rochelle Illinois, gets tangled with other cyclists. It's the fourth year for the race organized by Heidi Flake, a teacher at Beaver Valley School in Plain. About 150 children from 2-12 years old participated in races at the Leavenworth Ski Hill. Proceeds from the entry fees go toward early childhood educational programs in the valley. Visiting relatives in Leavenworth, Joey brought his bike from Illinois to participate in his first bike race. It didn't take him long to wipe away the tears and enter another race later on in the day.
