The Cashmere boys basketball team came back from an eleven point deficit at halftime to get within a point but end up losing to Kalama 50-49 Thursday in Yakima. They will move on to the loser bracket at the State 1A tournament.

Hundreds of spectators crammed into a block of Orondo Avenue Friday night for a ski and snowboard jam contest. The Rails and Ales event was sponsored by Numerica Credit Union. Erik Baker with Mission Ridge said six trucks dumped snow on the street while groomers shaped it into runs. Rails were brought down from the ski hill for boarders and skiers to use for tricks.
