the world has forgotten the only person to blame for this mess. Why it's George Bush! Obama spent his first term blaming Mr. Bush for everything his party messed up. I can only wonder who he will blame for his failures this term?
antzrus 4 months, 3 weeks ago
The People voted for the President and his policies. Most Republicans as with their hero Rush Limp____, hope and work so that he and his policies (what the People voted for) might fail. Geeez...
lonedog3 4 months, 3 weeks ago
he failed in his first term! look at the national debt! Perhaps he should have learned at least how to balance a household budget before trying the national budget. I wonder what his handlers are after?

The people most to blame we the people. We elected all of the above. We are responsible for their being there.
JimboBear 4 months, 3 weeks ago
You may well have something there "cousin", but since The Democrats carried the election and since the media parrots the Dem's viewpoint for the most part, you can rest assured the the blame will be pinned to the Republicans at every level whether it is deserved or not. The kiddie game as it is known today is "Pin the Tail on the Elephant" and has been for the past 4 years.

Amen Jimbo! While the country goes to hell in a hand basket the Obama blame game continues. Did see one picture on a news source with harry Reid snickering like "I cant believe those people are still buying this manure" It is sad to see how many are led around blind by the associated press, cnn and the party in charge. What ever happened to people that had minds of their own and the capacity to think for themselves?

It seems to me that neither "side" wants to be the first to blink. I think once we "go over the cliff" something will happen and it will be resolved. But not after a lot of people feel the heat. Since we "hired" these elected officials it's too bad we can't "fire" them for not doing their jobs like in private business.

We should be very very mad at all of them. This debt is going to be rough on us, but think how it is going to effect future generations. In stead of this generation being known as the greatest we will be known as the one that destroyed the American dream by saddling our decedents with our selfishness and greed. We will be the first to leave the future generations worse off instead of better off.
lonedog3 4 months, 3 weeks ago
no not the whole generation just one group that thinks they should have everything handed to them and the party that is promising it to them so their goals, whatever they may be, can be achieved. the generation of children that has become to lazy to work for a living
Em 4 months, 3 weeks ago
hmmm, too lazy to work for a living? maybe, but i think that it is more an overinflated expectation of compensation beyond, 1-their real contribution to our economy and 2-the effort required to reach the skill level to make that contribution
JJudd 4 months, 3 weeks ago
It couldn't be the pensions, medicare, medicaid and social security benefits promised to America's "greatest generation" could it? I believe the "baby boomers" feel that they have EARNED their entitlements, however fiscally draining these expenditures have become. Remember that when Social Security was enacted in 1935 retitrement was at 65, but most did not live long past that. Now average retirement is 67, but many more people live into their 80's and beyond. Thereby, draining an already insolvent, and antiquated system.
DannO 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Remember when Social Security wasn't seen as a piggy bank to be raided? Most people don't remember that Social Security was doing just fine until Congress decided they would dip into it. It might not be so fiscally draining if Congress (the American people ) repay what was borrowed. This was a solvent system until the government decided to spend it.

Just in case you are having a rough day, here's a stress management technique recommended in all the latest psychological journals.
The funny thing is that it really does work and will make you smile.
Picture yourself lying on your belly on a warm rock that hangs out over a crystal clear stream.
Picture yourself with both your hands dangling in the cool running water.
Birds are sweetly singing in the cool mountain air.
No one knows your secret place.
You are in total seclusion from that hectic place called the world.
The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall fills the air with a cascade of serenity.
The water is so clear that you can make out the face of the Republican you're holding underwater.
See, you're smiling already... :-))

Flagged for removal & reported to staff.
antzrus: regardless of the party affiliation used in the punchline, this is inappropriate.
maxpress 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Kyook, this should not suprise you. We as a nation fought Germany over this and later Stalin. It will not go away just because they hide behind a different name now and go after a different group.
JJudd 4 months, 3 weeks ago
I don't care what kyook says this was still funny! And to set the record straight, I am neither a (D) nor an (R).
kyook 4 months, 3 weeks ago
If you or a loved one was an (R), would it still be as funny?
Does it amuse you to think of someone being drowned for the sake of someone elses amusement?
JJudd 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Ease up! It was a joke, nothing more. Don't let your partisanship feelings get SO hurt. Maybe open up your mind and think of the other side for a moment.
kyook 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Of course it was a joke, I understand that, but you didn't answer the questions that I posed to you. Care to try again?
It has nothing to do with partisanship. Would it be OK with you if the "joke" was aimed at Jews, or people with Down's Syndrome, or the homeless, or people with Alzheimers disease....ad infinitum? Does it make it OK that the butt of this kind of "joke" is simply a member of political party?
Please keep Forum Standards and civil discourse in mind if/when you choose to address the bigger picture.

antzrus: so am I to understand that your saying republicans should be killed??
dryside 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Republicans, no brainier. The media will tell us. Listen and regurgitate.
antzrus 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Oh, come on folks-it's a silly macabre joke. I was originally sent it with "Democrat" listed rather than Republican. I thought it was rather humorous-not serious.
I've always wondered when we would finally get Prozac along with fluoride in our water here in town. It's about time-don't you think..? There's too many conservative folks spreading too much doom and gloom and fear-listening to too many similar talking heads.
JimboBear 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Sounds as if you may have painted yourself into a corner there Jim! Be of good cheer and maintain your patience. The paint will dry in a day or so.

You're right bro! I've got that black dude and his Demorats to the Left of me, doom and gloom to the Right of me-here I am stuck in the middle with, who..!??!
Should be a song... :-))
lonedog3 4 months, 3 weeks ago
"that black dude"? is that even close to a politically correct wording to call an African American??
antzrus 4 months, 3 weeks ago
My oldest son came up with that moniker. He noted on his facebook page he voted for "homosexuals, marijuana and that black dude..."
And what, dare I ask, might you call an African American male besides African American?
lonedog3 4 months, 3 weeks ago
nothing as improper as that.
JJudd 4 months, 3 weeks ago
People want to sound politically correct these days, even when they don't really believe the rhetoric they profess. OWN YOUR OPINIONS! I would have voted for Romney if he had any conviction whatsoever.
lonedog3 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Conviction or not I hated to vote for Romney. Thing I find hard to understand, maybe amusing, the world kicks off one poster for calling someone "clueless" and here is someone posting for the drowning of republicans and referring to the president as "that black dude". I guess it is ok to advocate the killing of republicans and toss non-politically correct names out in reference to the president but on this forum do not EVER call anyone clueless.
JimboBear 4 months, 3 weeks ago
"I guess it is ok to advocate the killing of republicans and toss non-politically correct names out in reference to the president but on this forum do not EVER call anyone clueless."
Especially if that "anyone" is a staff member!
lonedog3 4 months, 3 weeks ago
But what if it fits Jimbo?
JimboBear 4 months, 3 weeks ago
I don't think we're going to get an answer to that Joe, other than "See ya!" We had that answer a while back and I don't want to push my luck much further. I like coming here.
antzrus 4 months, 3 weeks ago
"Clueless" many have thought was my middle name as I am regarding your dark perceptions regarding my silly joke and my and my son's reference to our President.
Am I wrong to assume it was your post that was expunged? If so, I may understand. From what I've observed with me, you perceive rather darkly and your responses herein are equally dark and humorless. But then predominantly I'm clueless.

"The whole of science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday thinking"
antzrus 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Aha, most really believe it's all what goes on in the external world that literally causes our thinking/perceptions of that external world and hence our feelings about it. Thinking/perception is a problem for all of us.
"Whilst part of what we perceive comes through our senses from the object before us, another part (and it may be the larger part) always comes out of our own mind." — William James (1890, The Principles of Psychology)
Alcohol (yes, even a little), marijuana, benzodiazepines (sleeping/antianxiety pills) and opiates (narcotics-prescription pain killers) are brain depressants.
They will depress brain perceptions of anxiety and pain (good), but they also will depress another of our brain functions called the literal thinking/perception of our subjective reality (not good).
Leading a sedentary lifestyle without a lot of bright light going in through our eyes will also compound the depressant effect.
Use of the above substances et al. (and too often our own particular) brain wiring may turn us into dark and moody souls without us even being aware that it's happening.
Sadly, others might try and tell us of our moody and dark problems-but ignorance is relative bliss.
To whom this may concern, please address a $200.00 check to ....

The press and we, the citizens are entirely to blame. The press continues to allow both sides to spew lies and propaganda without any fact checking at all. Especially on the left. Today's press is complicit in all of this. We the citizens are too lazy to think for ourselves (collectively speaking that is). There are a few of us that refuse to be lied to but we are far outnumbered by the vast majority of the electorate.
President Obama proposes 1,600,000,000,000 (that's 1.6 trillion) from tax rate increases over 10 years. The other side is/was proposing the same in revenue from closing loopholes and budget cuts. Sounds like a lot of money doesn't it? But, is it really when compared to the depth of the problem? The answer is: NO! Not even close! Lets look at some numbers here with an open, honest mind.
According to the Congressional Budget Office, the deficit for Fiscal Year 2012 (which ended on September 30, 2012) was 1,100,000,000,000. That's 1.1 trillion dollars! Too many people confuse the term deficit with debt. Deficit means that the government spent 1.1 trillion dollars more than it took in during the 12 month period for Oct 1, 2011 to Sep 30, 2012. The government had to borrow that much money just to operate last year. According to the Congressional Budget Office, fiscal year 2012 marked the 4th year in a row that the deficit topped the 1 trillion dollar mark.
That's an annual figure!!! Now pick whichever "plan" that is being proposed and you can do some real quick math and see that neither side is proposing any kind of solution at all except maybe the republicans (and even their plan is woefully inadequate) because at least their plan has some spending cuts in it. Do the math folks. Remember those plans are 1.6 trillion dollars over 10 years. That only amounts to 160 billion dollars a year! Taking last year's deficit number, they are arguing over whether or not to spend 1.1 trillion dollars or 940 billion dollars more than they take in! This doesn't even make a dent in the problem. And the press just continues to sit idly by without ever calling these clowns on their lies and propaganda. Dismal failure by the free press as far as I'm concerned. We, the citizens need to demand better of our elected leaders. Until that changes and the tax code is changed so that everyone has skin in the game, we are doomed to failure.

WOW!!! Only 3% believe that Dems alone are at falt. I would have voted for the Tea Party if it was an option. To me they are the spark that took a smoldering political mess and turned it into a raging political inferno.
