  1. WENATCHEE — Some 44 percent of the 412 workers who lost their jobs in January after Alcoa curtailed its Wenatchee Works smelter have either gone back to school, are thinking about going back to school, or have sought other types of retraining.
  2. WENATCHEE — Alcoa is facing millions of dollars in penalties for not keeping its Wenatchee Works smelter operating and its employees on the job, community leaders learned Tuesday.

  5. LAKE WENATCHEE — Buck Creek Fire officials will host a community meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lake Wenatchee Rec Club Hall, 14400 Chiwawa Loop Road, to answer questions and discuss the environmental benefits of monitoring the fire but allowing it to burn.
