Congratulations Russell J. Speidel of Speidel Law Firm in Wenatchee was named a Washington Super Lawyer for summer 2011. Speidel has been placed on this list for the last five years. Speidel also recently attended the 2011 Washington State Access to Justice Conference and Washington State Bar Association Bar Leaders Conference in Kennewick.

Ben and Molly Nickles, owners of Nickles Photography in Ephrata, won the 2011 Professional Photographers of America Best Wedding Portrait award for the western states for a wedding photo taken in the snow in November. Rock Island Elementary School was chosen for Washington state’s 2011 Title I, Part A Improvement Award for $5,515, in recognition of students’ performances on the state assessment for the past three years.

Casey Baldwin, a research scientist in Wenatchee, received the Steve Phelps Leadership in Science award for his advising on complex technical issues; Ken Bevis, a watershed steward in Winthrop, won the Rocky Spencer Award for his outreach and communication; Andrew Murdoch of Wenatchee received the Best Paper Award for his publication on wild and hatchery spring Chinook; Jay Deason of Wenatchee won the Innovators Award for his design and installation of pit tag arrays; and Charity Davidson of Wenatchee won the Esprit de Corps Award for her attitude and team building skills.
