Chairs sprout up as a sign of spring

The chairs are so trashy! Come on people, stop doing this ridiculous saving half a block for the parade. Isnt this also a safety issue? I cant believe the city allows this. If someone were walking down the sideWALK (not sideCHAIR) and trip over one of these chairs, there could be a pretty hefty lawsuit against the city. At minimum, neglagence. This is stupid. Come on Wenatchee, pull your heads out. Every year I hate Apple Blossom more and more. The city makes it a dreadful time of year for locals, especially those on the west side of the river. PLEASE STOP THE CHAIRS! 6 WEEKS BEFORE THE PARADE IS WAY TOO MUCH! Yes, I know all caps annoys people, it annoys me too, but I really hate the CHAIRS!!!

January deer killings bring poaching charges for 3 men

This case has nothing, NOTHING, to do with other people getting off for more severe crimes. These 3 need to be punished. Punished to the full extent of the law, IF they are proven guilty. People like these 3 are the ones who give hunters a bad image to alot of people. These are the people that make it tougher & tougher for me to get on people's land to hunt because they get so screwed over time by poachers that they dont want anyone on their land. I have no respect for poachers. It doesnt appear these 3 were doing this to feed their family, especially if they are just leaving other carcusses on the side of the road. That is the ONLY reason I would "ok" somewhat with poaching 1 animal. NOT 3

Employers quietly fire illegal workers

So, "MOM", in your mind, it is ok to break a law if you are just too impatient to follow it. So, why do we have laws at all? If any law is inconvenient for me, it does NOT give me the right to break it. The laws, whether you agree with them or not, are there for a reason. Yes, it should not be a cake walk to become an American citizen. Otherwise, what would be the point? Make it even easier for people to live off of the USA's free hand-outs? Canada is looking better and better each day with the way this country is going....

Employers quietly fire illegal workers

They shouldn't have access to ANY benefits that legal citezens recieve. The legal citizens pay alot of money to have these benefits, yet the illegal people seam to benefit from them just as well, if not better, and dont pay into these programs. I am a hard working, LEGAL citizen, that has paid into the different government tax systems my whole working life. I do NOT have access to health care insurance, because of a pre-existing illness. Yet, when someone here illegaly has a sniffle, they go to the ER & get seen, and DONT pay a penny when they leave. I am FORCED to pay, in full, before I leave the hospital. How is that right?
And taking jobs that we spoiled Americans aren't willing to do? Janitorial work was an example? B.S.! I have worked janitorial work in my life, and my in-laws & wife still do. It is a good paying job that needs to be done. I clean the toilet at my house, what's the big deal with cleaning it at a business? Sure, there are jobs that some Americans don't want to/won't do, but there will ALWAYS be another LEGAL AMERICAN that will be willing to take that job to support his/her family. ALWAYS. By LEGAL AMERICAN, I dont care if they are white, brown, black, etc. Just someone who is here LEGALLY.

Extra patrols result in 71 seat-belt citations

LiveFREEorDIE (Kyle Read) ,
Lets say your friend that was driving with no seatbelt got into a small accident. Lets say I caused it even. Just something minor. BUT, because of the energy involved in even minor crashes he hits his head, which doesnt need to be hit hard if hit in the right spot, and dies. Where if he had been wearing the seatbelt, he would have a bruise across his chest & lap, he is now dead. Now, instead of me just getting a ticket for the accident & paying for repairs, etc, I get vehicular manslaughter charges. His life is ruined, and to a lesser extent, mine would be too. THATS MY ISSUE. Wear the damn seatbelt. PLEASE.

Extra patrols result in 71 seat-belt citations

If these people had just put their seatbelts on, not drank then drove, not been speeding, & had insurance that is required, there wouldn't have been a problem. Why defend the people that were stupid enough to do the above mentioned infractions? They were well aware of the laws, and CHOSE not to follow them. I don't feel sorry for any of them. I am glad that there is some extra monetary gains for the departments. Maybe they won't have to lay-off more deputies/officers. If people follow the laws, they wont have the issue.

Rape suspect changes story

scochran (sarah cochran), How can you imply that this is the victim's fault. This is your quote "BUT what about the drug dealers? the ones who provoked this whole invasion." How does this make sense? By your logic, the "drug dealers" may as well have been shot & killed. I mean, they "provoked" this whole ordeal. It is only right that they get punished by getting beaten with a gun, held at gunpoint, and raped. That has got to be the most heartless, un-educated, thoughtless comment I have heard yet. If I get a bad tank of gas in my car, should I go beat the gas station tenant & rape her? NO. I don't do business there again. Same thing with the shrooms here. You feel you got shorted? Buy your shrooms elsewhere next time, or just quit doing them. THERE IS NOTHING THAT JUSTIFIES THE ACTIONS OF THESE HORRIBLE HUMAN'S. NOTHING!
You think that because the victim wasn't showing signs of any trauma in the courtroom that there is no trauma? You really think that? You are just so wrong on so many levels with your comments. I wouldn't wish the actions of these horrible people on anyone. ANYONE. Not on "drug dealers," good citizens, or any other free person. It does traumatize people. Whether they show it immediately, or have a major mental breakdown in 10 years.
You are correct that our laws do need some fine-tuning, but I hope and PRAY that you are not involved in that process in any way.

Rape suspect changes story

“If he’d been convicted, he would be looking at a sentence of about 65 years. ... Just an unreasonably long sentence,” defense attorney Platts said---
WHAT?!?!?! Unreasonably long sentence? I dont think there is such a thing as an "unreasonably long sentence" for what this animal did! I think life in prison without possibility for parole is an unreasonably light sentence. I feel the death penalty should be used for rape, especially in cases such as this. This poor woman will most likely suffer from the memory of this for the rest of her life. That ruins one's life. This defendant should get his life taken, in my opinion. There is no need in having anyone like this re-entering a community. So, lets say he does get out in 23.5-28 years. He wont be any better. Our prisons dont rehabilitate offenders. They just hold them, with more offenders, who learn more tricks of the trade from each other. Then we release them, put a little ad in the newspaper saying some convicted sex offender is moving in to your neighborhood, considered highly likely to re-offend, but call this phone # if you have any questions. Great justice system we have...

Painful new assessments in the mail

FerdBerfel (Ferd Berfel), I have not looked for awhile for a home, because I couldnt find anything "livable" for too long of a time frame under $225k (give or take $5-$10k) and had to rent a place in hopes of prices dropping back to reality, instead of everyone thinking their P.O.S. home is worth $250k simply because it is in the greater Wenatchee valley. I am still currently under that rental contract, so there is no point in looking. My credit, down-payment, etc, was not the issue, the price of the home was the issue. It'd be like paying $75,000 for a Honda Civic because it has a Ferrari emblem on it replacing all Honda emblems. Its still no Ferrari. Just like the homes here. They stick a $200k+ price on them, but they just aren't worth that. Atleast to me & my family. I am able to afford the payment on the one home I was very interested in & actually persued, but the home just wasn't worth the asking price still. If I am going to spend a certain amount on a home, I shouldn't feel I am getting totally screwed simply because of the "percieved" value of places around this area. I could have purchased a very similar home in another area (specifically suburbs of Spokane, where I was comparing at the time) for $50-$60k less. The homes in this valley at that point in time, roughly 1-1.5 years ago, that were under $200k would require a lot of work and money to make them livable. After all that work and money would have been spent, you still wouldn't have a home that would REALLY be worth what you paid prior to all the "upgrades." Dont get me wrong, I am all for working on a home to bring it to my "standards," ONLY if it is worth it. I am not going to buy a home for $200k or so and drop another $40k+ just to make it livable, and still really have a place that feels worth no more than $170k. It is just stupid. I am rambling now, sorry. Hope I made some kind of a point...
