I would vote that we should leave them as they are, but ONLY if idiots would stop going off the trails and tearing everything up. I would rather that motorized vehicles be completely outlawed on public land, if the only alternative is a forest riddled with tire-tracks and churned-up mud.
I agree with JenM. I'm not sure how anyone can say Wenatchee's gang problem is "No Big Deal", when two kids just died because of a relative's gang association.
Really? Layoff a DOZEN firefighters? "Restricted" bookings at the jail? I think these things would take a LOT more time, effort, and red-tape than our illustrious mayor thinks they will - such as legal issues and possible lawsuits, etc.
It sounds like this statement by Mr Johnson is nothing more than a scare tactic to push through his sales tax hike...
I agree. Maybe saying "pushing things in the RIGHT direction", was a bad choice of words. Some things definitely don't seem to be evolving in the right direction. But, still, my point was supposed to be that evolution and God aren't mutually exclusive, IMO.
Maybe (okay, probably) I'm just an idiot, but I have never understood the resistance to evolution by Christians. I consider myself a Christian, although I'm not really a practicing Christian - and I don't see why evolution AND the existence of God can't both be true. Sure, evolution dismisses the story of Adam and Eve, but disproving a small part of the Bible doesn't disprove a plane of existence that we don't understand. And it doesn't automatically mean that there has to be either "God" or "no God". Does it?
I guess, to me, I see the evidence and proof of evolution, but that doesn't mean some higher being isn't "pushing" things in the right direction. Just a thought.
