It is my understanding that typically newspapers will report the incident even if family & friends have NOT been notified. However, I don't believe they will release NAMES until relatives have been personally notified. Also, in the case of it being a minor(which obviously this is as they stated "student") I believe they don't have to even release a name if the parents decide not to have it released to public....I may be wrong, this is just my thoughts.
I do not think it is appropriate to specifically name a gang as being responsible for the recent fire. This accusation is based only on the assumption that the two are rival gangs; which there are many others. I believe this may put additional innocent people at risk for retribution. There has been no proof, made public, that has supported the accusation that the gang South Side is at fault in this horrific crime. Until further evidence is discovered I think it would be important for bias claims by The Wenatchee World and other individuals to be edited accordingly.
I'm the "poor lady" and to clarify...I was not defending this man... I was defending Daniel...I do not even know these kids. However, the life choices these two are making make me sad.
...and the first ammendment also gives myself the right to gab about how much I disagree with someone else's opinion...so exactly...leave people to their own opinions.
I do not do what I do to make justifications, excuses or victimize individuals for their past behaviors. Instead, I do this because I believe that EVERY individual has the ability to change and should be given the opportunity, including Daniel and Ramon. Personally, I do not believe that focusing on past mistakes does any good nor has purpose. Instead, I choose to support individuals in making positive choices for their future. I feel that the latter is more beneficial to the individual as well as the rest of the community. Also, nice office and a soft chair?!?! Jeeze, tell me where that job opening is at so I can apply! :)
From the seemingly angry tone of your posts and apparent hate towards these two men, I would take a wild guess that you are coming from the criminal justice field. Myself, coming from the social work field, I understand that we have RADICALLY different viewpoints towards people of different backgrounds and that is okay. It seems that your only experience with these men were on negative terms, so I can understand where you may be coming from with your negativity. In response to your question, Ramon has taken responsibility for his actions in recent years. He recently graduated from Lakeview Shock and received the only award for most improved and changed. Through this nationally recognized program he has gained the adequate tools to create a more positive and purpose filled life and I believe he will use them. I KNOW that both Daniel and Ramon are good people and have good hearts. I also believe that it is only God that can create change in a person and use them for His purpose. I believe whole heartedly that God is working in both Ramon and Daniel's lives and they have an important purpose in this world. I would only hope that you would believe the same; not for selfish reasons, but, for the benefit of 6 young children that deserve their fathers as positive role models in their lives.
I am sorry Mr. Flowe that the only lasting impression you have of these two men are that you consider them "menaces to society". I have grown to know a different story regarding them.
Both men have been found not guilty in trials associated with the shootings that you have described, so I feel it is innapropriate to make the statement that they have "done it and gotten away with it". Do you not believe in what our country and justice system is about? The processes are in place to ensure our trials are performed in all fairness and accuracy? If the Justice system found them not guilty then so be it...they are NOT GUILTY. You were not present at either shooting you describe so you should not jump to conclusion that these men have done those acts. I would think you would want the same if you were ever in a courtroom.
I know that these men have had difficult pasts and may have made mistakes as we all do, but, I am lucky to know them as fathers and husbands. I can speak for Ramon ("Porky") in saying that you will see the change that has come from his past couple years away from this area. He HAS changed his life around and has not done so for you or anyone else in the community, but for God and the love and respect of myself and his 3 young children.
I hope that one day you will be able to know a different side to these men and will learn to show respect for ALL people regardless of circumstances.
