Which do you use most?

I'm in the same boat as CArch. I have no need nor desire to be connected to the world 24/7. I'm a bit concerned that one of these days my granddaughter will ask me "What was it like you had time alone, grandpa?"

Bill would let financially ‘fragile’ Wenatchee tax without public vote

That's an interesting point. I didn't think the proposed legislation changed the PFD agreement outside of letting Wenatchee pass a separate sales tax increase.

Bankruptcy looms as groups try to rally support for troubled arena

Alas, it's going to cost tax dollars from jurisdictions that don't have the money to prove their point. It's a rock and a hard place situation, and the choice for smaller entities may be between paying lawyers and fixing a broken water main.

Bankruptcy looms as groups try to rally support for troubled arena

One of my concerns is potential litigation costs. Yes, the 8 entities of the PFD are shielded by the agreement setting it up, but there is the probability that they will get sued by the bondholders in an attempt to find someone with money to pay them back. For the smaller entities (Rock Island, Entiat, Cashmere and Waterville) who have had to tighten their budgets due to shrinking revenues and potential state funding cutbacks, the potential for severe budget problems due to legal costs is high.

Counties say ‘No’ to 0.2-percent tax measure; new plan emerges

Close. You would be paying the .033% no matter if the PFD exsisted or not. It was not a tax increase, just money the state was collecting anyway that was redirected towards the PFD.

Show Of The Week-STYX

It should be a very good show (alas, I'm not going) and I don't think Styx loses anything wiht Lawrence Gowan taking Dennis DeYoung's role. Goyan in a multiple Juno Award winner (the Juno's being Canada's Grammy's except they actually mean something), and his '85 hit "A Criminal Mind" is part of Styx show

As to The Guess Who, it becomes an issue of name ownership and brings up a second question, a problem that almost sank Fleetwood Mac in the mid 70's. Neither Randy Bachman or Burton Cummings own the "Guess Who" name. When Cummings went solo in 1975, GW bassist Jim Kale registered the name. Bachman and Cummings do not have polite things to say about Jim Kale.

Commissioners want game plan from Wenatchee before approving vote on TTC tax increase

And Rock Island used the Cashmere model for their "approval".

All variations considered, pick one.

Between the Detroit Institute of Arts and downtown. It was on the "required" list of plant tours for grade school kids, along with the Velvet Peanut Butter plant, and the Wonder Bread bakery. Big green building with a glass wall facing Woodward where you could watch the bottling line from the street.....
