Hello,
So I wasn't able to find an already established group of people that watch Sounders games. I was able to work out a deal with the WildCard to allow us to meet up there to watch games. There is a game this Thursday, April 22 at 5pm. I and a couple other people are planning to go to the WildCard and I hope you can join us.

The next game we are planning to watch is May 15 vs. Red Bull New York. If you're on Facebook, we have a group that you can join to get more information about our meet-ups.

Here's the link for the Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?...

I posted the following comment in response to your comment stating your idea of a new highway between Wenatchee and Ellensburg in this newspaper.

This road proposal would replace the Blewett/Swauk Summit crossing, currently US-97.

This is a fairly old idea I floated in earlier topics which were constructively criticised by many. In an attempt to satisfy many of those criticisms, I have spent a few months researching alternatives that would:

1) Provide a lower route between I-90 in Kittitas County, WA and Wenatchee, WA in Chelan County. The current road is US-97 which crosses the Wenatchee Mountains spur of the Cascade Range at "new" Blewett Pass, formerly known as Swauk Summit, at an altitude of over 4,000 fasl.

2) Utilize the "north" trending I-82 by adding an extension that the population will recognize as a natural extension. It does not have to be an Interstate freeway but should be a limited access dual carriage road. The added distance of this road over the current road would be offset by the higher speeds and safety of a freeway over lower, less mountainous terrain.

3) Provide a safer route less likely impacted by snow by routing it lower and to the east where climatologically there is much less precipitation.

So here is the proposed routing of this road:

From an interchange at I-90 the road travels through farmland. The road then climbs a grade at Spring Gulch and the Naneum Ridge. At an altitude of 2,500 fasl, the road tunnels under the ridge for approx. 1.5 miles. The road emerges from the tunnels and follows a due north routing at approx. 2,500 fasl. The roadway cuts through many smaller ridages and the fill would be utilized in the many gulches in between. At a point two miles north of the Chelan/Kittitas County line, the road then tunnels under Jumpoff Ridge. The road then emerges in farmland at Wenatchee Heights and proceeds north and crosses the Columbia River into Douglas County. The road skirts East Wenatchee and ties into the newer US 2/97 bridge just north of the Wenatchhee River Confuence

I posted this as a conjectured road worth building by the State in the future. My original idea was posted on a forum in the "AA Roads" web site. My original idea was for an extension of the I-82 freeway to Wenatchee which follows the Colockum Road. After it was pointed out that the elevation of the road over the Wenatchee Ridge tops out at over 5,000 fasl which is much higher than the US-97 crossing at Blewett Pass, I went to work looking at a lower route that would work. With topo maps, I was able to counter that criticism by proposing the road that you have in my previous message. In order to avoid long travel around the ridge at a lower elevation, my solution was to propose two short tunnels to bypass the higher elevations on the route and to avoid the expense of a much longer tunnel along the Colockum Road corridor. While I have nothing against driving the Blewett Pass route, I just feel that the road I proposed has much potential to become the preferred route to Wenatchee for the reasons I stated. The link to the proposed road is at: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&...
