Eastmont High School seniors Francisco Sarmiento and Tristan Thompson share their perspectives about how working with professional jazz musicians has helped them in music and in life. The students will perform with the pros on Saturday night, Feb. 9 at the Performing Arts Center of Wenatchee.

Common Ground: Jazz Workshop gives students lessons in life
The excitement for the 13th Annual Wenatchee Jazz Workshop started at the beginning of the school year for Eastmont High School seniors Tristan Thompson and Francisco Sarmiento. They say that having a chance to soak up the knowledge and learn techniques from accomplished professionals has taught them a lot about music and also about life in the five years they’ve participated in the workshop.
