The Devil Supports the NRA

Blog: Werner Janssen's blog

Without doubt, the devil exists. The battle is being lost by those preaching Love. The devil has gained the upper hand by creating fear in all aspects of our life. Even the church, with a mission to preach love, has discovered that fear increases membership and brings in more money than the love approach.

Fear is definitely an economic stimulus with the increased sales of guns and security systems. Those living in fear are electing people who exploit their fears assuring everyone that more powerful weapons are the answer. Keeping society healthy and well educated is not part of their plan. Fear encourages perfectly sane people to run out and purchase more guns.

Guns in our society are a problem but not the main problem. The real problem is that our lifestyle has developed a sick society. Violent movies are not the problem but they contribute. Violent video games aren’t the problem but they contribute. Parents who promote fear to maintain power over their children are not the problem but they contribute. Parents who are too busy to share love and compassion with their children and aren’t providing observable examples of civility definitely contribute to a sick society.

The NRA trumpets that guns do not kill. People kill. If that’s true, then we need to do something about people. People who have been denied love and support and a solid education create a sick society. A person without hope often resorts to violence rather than struggling to maintain civility. When life becomes hopeless guns become an easy way to express emotions.

Removing guns won’t solve the massacre of humans but at least it will reduce the number of guns available to those who become mentally broken and decide to deal with hopelessness by killing other. Guns may not be the problem but guns make it easy for those struggling emotionally to feel powerful. The more rapid the firing sequence and the larger the ammunition clip, the less ability it takes to succeed.

God fearing people will vote to financially fund armed guards at our schools but these same people refuse to support funding for teacher training and increased learning opportunities for our Children. Children need to learn to deal with emotions in a healthy way. Our schools will support purchasing new high tech helmets for its football team but they won’t purchase music instruments for elementary students and provide free music instruction. Music instruction has proved to increase the brains ability to learn and be healthy emotionally. High tech football helmets still result in brain injuries but create the illusion of invincibility. Guns also create the illusion of invincibility.

It is simplistic to think that armed guards at the entrance of each and every school will solve the problem. Armed guards at schools will however sell more guns and do little to protect children. We know if a way is found to protect the public from guns those who live with hopelessness will find other killing methods that can’t be stopped by guards or ‘good people with guns’. Evil is winning. There are those who want to eliminate the Education Department and expand the funding for the Defense Department. What greater evidence do you need? The devil is definitely alive and well.

I agree with everything you said except this part:

'Removing guns won’t solve the massacre of humans but at least it will reduce the number of guns available to those who become mentally broken and decide to deal with hopelessness by killing other'

You said yourself that people are broken and will lash out.... Well, if they can't do it with a gun as you suggest, they will do it with a knife, or a car, or a homemade explosive device.

Again, guns are not the problem...society is the problem....all of the factors you mentioned....parents busy...tv violent...bullying in school...all bad...none caused by guns. and none cured by taking guns away.

"Evil is winning.. . . What greater evidence do you need? . . . The devil is definitely alive and well"

Shades of Flip Wilson! So that's it! "The Devil" made him do it! So, I take it that means all we have to do is ban "The Devil" and no more of these crazies will come up with such ideas. You should give Joe Biden a call and make sure he has "The Devil" on his list of things for the President to implement by executive order Werner.
